Spanish student wins Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 in Paris
The winners of the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 were announced
during this year's Paris Motor Show, at one of the automotive industry's
best parties - the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004.

The event, which was held at Le Cab nightclub in Paris, was attended by more
than 500 individuals from the design automotive industry. They included
leading designers automotive designers, design managers and top executives
from automakers including Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Citroen,
DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Ferrari, Fiat, General Motors, Maserati, Mazda,
Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Saab,
Seat, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo Cars, etc Independent designers and design
studio personnel, as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers were also in
attendance.
The winners of each of the eight award categories are listed below:

Overall winner 2004
The overall winner of the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 was
Jacobo Dominguez-Ojea, a student from the Royal College of Art, London, UK.
Dominguez-Ojea received the winning trophy and a cheque for US$5,000 from
Thomas Apostolos, president of premier sponsor Intier Automotive.

Best Innovation Award
The Best Innovation Award was awarded to Jacobo Dominguez-Ojea, a
student from the Royal College of Art, London, UK. Dominguez-Ojea received a
trophy and a cheque for US$500 from David Shall, managing director of
category sponsor Technicon Group.

Best Use of Technology Award
The Best Use of Technology Award was awarded to Oriol Mogas Bartomeu
student from the Royal College of Art. Mogas Bartomeu received a trophy and
a cheque for US$500 from Matthias Rabe, executive director of VW Group
Research and Design of category sponsor VW.

Best Production Interior Award
The Best Production Interior Award was awarded to David Rojas, a
student from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, USA. Rojas'
colleague received a trophy and a cheque for US$500 from Dennis van Stee,
director of worldwide marketing of category sponsor Seton Company.

Best Conceptual Interior Award
The Best Conceptual Interior Award was awarded to Heung-Soo Kim, from
the Royal College of Art, London, UK. Kim received a trophy and a cheque for
US$500 from Gunther Wilmes, key account manager, OEM of category sponsor
Waeco International.

Best Lifestyle Interior Award
The Best Lifestyle Interior Award was awarded to Raquel Aparicio, a
student from Elisava University, Barcelona, Spain. Aparicio received a
trophy and a cheque for US$500 from Derrick Fronda, director, Automotive
Division of category sponsor Alcantara SpA.

The Best Eco Design Concept Award was awarded to Reginald Hingston, a
student from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK. Hingston received
a trophy and a cheque for US$500 from Gérard Seuvre, head of R&T
of category sponsor Rieter Automotive Systems.

The Best Production Exterior Award was awarded to Fengyou Gong, from
Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, Pforzheim, Germany. Gong received
a trophy and a cheque for US$500 from Professor Jon King, director of
