IM Awards - submission process

design briefs

The theme of this year's Interior Motives Design Awards is
'A design for life'.

There are four briefs for the Interior Motives Awards 2008. Design a vehicle to fulfil the requirements of one of the briefs below.

Consider which of the ten awards categories described your project will be eligible for, and provide material - both words and images - to support this. If you think your project is suitable for the 'Best use of technology' category, for example, provide illustrations and a detailed explanation of how the technology functions and applies to your design.

Strength in lightness
Create a new formal design language - inside and out - that projects the dual attributes of lightness and strength.

'i' is for innovation
Design an automotive iPod - a revolutionary package that should preview a new aesthetic, a new form of human machine interface, and innovative technology that changes the way we relate to the car as a product. Explain how these elements are integrated to achieve this.

Modern luxury
Develop a completely new expression of luxury for the year 2030, one that considers space, light and the use of material within the context of climate change.

The third way
Devise a novel form of personal mobility that addresses the needs of poverty-stricken Third World nations. Examine every aspect of the product lifecycle, from marketing and design to manufacturing and maintenance.
