judging criteria

A panel of distinguished automotive designers and other design professionals will evaluate the entries and select winners at two award levels: the Student Design of the Year and the Category Winners.

The Interior Motives Design Awards 2008 jury will be evaluating entries based on the following:

  • Relevance to the theme
  • Concept originality
  • Design value and quality
  • Developmental potential

Interior Motives magazine and the judging panel reserve the right to create additional design briefs and award categories if necessary.

judging process

The judging process will take place from 1 May 2008, and will incorporate a number of different stages.

  • July 2008: Short-listing

    Interior Motives magazine and the jury panel will announce its short list of entries.
  • August 2008: Announcement of the finalists

    The students whose projects have been selected as finalists will be contacted.

    In June the panel of judges will convene for final judging to determine the category winners, runners-up and Student Design of the Year for the Interior Motives Design Awards 2007.
  • 3 October 2008: Announcement of the winners:

    Announcement of the category winners and the Student Design of the Year at the Interior Motives Design Awards 2008 ceremony in Paris (on the same eve of the Paris Motor Show).

    After the ceremony, information on the winning designs and the award winners will be available on the website and through the pages of Interior Motives magazine.

The Interior Motives Design Awards 2008 judges include some of the world's finest and most respected senior automotive designers and design managers from carmakers and automotive Tier One suppliers.
