IM Awards - submission process

design briefs

The theme of this year's Interior Motives Design Awards is '2030'.

Design a vehicle to fulfil the requirements of one of the briefs below. Do not design in terms of science fiction (anyone can do science fiction). Design a vehicle for the year 2030.

Consider future technology, the environment, society . . . regional differences.

Submit a written scenario with your entry - for example, 'I am driving where, when and why.' How does the vehicle fit this scenario? The scenario you create is in response to the brief that you choose from the list below:

emotion in motion

Assisted driving is rapidly approaching. How will we feel in 10 to 15 years' time, when everything is assisted by a machine? How will this affect the emotion of driving? Imagine such a scenario then bring back the driving experience to ensure exciting driver interaction.

time quality

With a high degree of urbanisation, the driver of the future will be stressed by driving. Time is of the utmost importance. What can we do to ensure that the driving experience is both stress-free and time efficient?

new build

Today's cars are becoming more aggressive. This may be good for some markets but may be entirely wrong for others (such as emerging markets like India).

Yet price competition means manufacturers cannot produce a different car for every country. How do we create a new system - of platforms or modules - to meet the different cultural requirements of different markets?

flow

Cars remain largely disconnected from the urban structures and the societies in which they operate. Imagine one connected system that will provide fluid mobility for a person from his / her point of departure to destination.
